Results of the 2024 Croner Local Media Survey
The recently published 2024 Croner Local Media Survey concluded there was compensation growth for jobs at local media stations. The report provides in-depth market data on compensation for jobs specific to local television and radio stations and to local advertising sales. The survey results include data from television stations, radio stations, MSOs and digital media companies.
Noteworthy findings from the 2024 report include:
- Compensation growth for local media jobs varied by market. Growth among Local Sales Managers was strongest for the top three markets. Growth among Account Executives was strongest for markets 4-75.
- Among Local Sales Managers, actual total cash compensation in both the east and west regions is highest in the country. Among Account Executives, actual total cash compensation in the east region is highest.
- Among station-specific positions, executives, middle management and individual contributors all experienced strong growth in base salary and actual total cash compensation from 2023 to 2024. Growth for executives was driven by both base salary and short-term incentives. Growth for middle management and individual contributors was driven primarily by base salary.
