The 2020 Croner Software Games Survey – North America shows that U.S. software gaming companies experienced steady compensation growth for all organization levels from 2019 to 2020. Growth for executives and support positions was highest, driven by increases in all compensation elements.
Canadian participants experienced material compensation growth from 2019 to 2020, driven by growth of incentives for executives, middle managers and support levels. Growth among individual contributor positions was more moderate.
Croner’s leading-edge annual report provides data about compensation programs and practices for jobs in all gaming platforms including mobile, PC, console, MMOG, social, handheld and casino games.
Other findings of note include:
- Among U.S. product development job families, positions in Game Design and Sound / Audio had the highest base salary movement year-over-year.
- Among U.S. engineering positions, base salaries for Senior Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Software Engineers were highest in 2020 among senior level positions.
- Among U.S. marketing positions, base salaries for Influencer and Product Marketing Specialists were highest in 2020 among journey level positions.
