C2HR Content Developers Survey

The C2HR Content Developers Compensation Survey (formerly the C2HR Cable Programmers / Broadcast Networks Compensation Survey) is a compensation survey conducted annually to provide industry-specific benchmarks for salaries, incentives and other compensation components to digital content creators, cable programmers and broadcast networks. The Survey invites participation from cable programmers, broadcast networks, digital media and technology companies, on demand and internet streaming content providers or other content companies with related programming positions.

Forty-one companies – representing 170 networks and approximately 74,000 employees – are using the 2021 Croner C2HR Survey Results to understand salary differentials to benchmark compensation and to establish job architecture, rational pay levels and pay structures, and to make informed decisions about bonus plans and equity plans. Participant companies include all five national broadcast networks and the most watched national cable networks, as well as companies who create streaming content.

All organization levels are reported, in functions such as general management, programming, creative production, technical production, post production, remote operations, library, affiliate and media relations, community affairs, market research, digital distribution, advertising sales, affiliate advertising sales, advertising sales operations, legal and business affairs and G&A.

The 2022 Participation Fee is $10,500.

Additional Custom Analytical Reports Available to Survey Participants
For an additional fee, a participant company may select a subset of companies from the participant list for a custom rerun of the data made up only of the list of companies selected. A minimum of ten companies is required for a custom report.

A custom rerun of the full dataset, including all additional cuts reported for each position such as geographic or scope, is $1,500. A custom rerun that includes the "All Incumbents" line of data by position (no additional cuts reported) is $750.

By signing a Participation Agreement to participate in the 2022 Survey, a company may purchase the 2021 Report for $18,200.


The Croner Company conducts this Survey as an independent third party on behalf of the Survey's participants. All data are held in strict confidence and are reported only in summary form. No attribution is made to any specific data from any participating companies. The Croner Company aggregates data using DOJ "Safe Harbor Guidelines" to ensure full regulatory compliance of the Survey report.

Survey reports are distributed only to participants and all participants are required to sign an agreement that confirms they will abide by our confidentiality standards.
